Awards & Recognition
Martha, our Operations Manager has recently won the Nursery Operations / Regional Manager Award at the National Nursery World Awards 2020.
On a day-to-day basis Martha is responsible for all things “Little Giggles” she began as manager of the groups Ashton setting and now Martha manages her time effectively across all six sites. She has a reputation for knowing each member of staff well and she is constantly pushing for quality assurance to give parents peace of mind.
Quite simply without Martha Little Giggles wouldn’t be the same. Watch the video below to see Martha’s acceptance speech.
The “Baby Welcome Plus” Award are running alongside The Tameside “Breast Milk – It’s Amazing” campaign. The programme aims to raise breastfeeding knowledge among new and pregnant mothers, as well as those thinking about starting a family. The campaign also attempts to raise awareness of local help and advice available in the area, as well as providing referrals to these resources.
The Baby Welcome and Welcome Plus Awards are designed to encourage breastfeeding mothers to breastfeed in public with confidence and to decrease the stigma associated with public breastfeeding. The awards will benefit the campaign since they will be given to businesses and community places that demonstrate that they are hospitable to women.
Little Giggles Nursery Ashton-Under-Lyne and Audenshaw have been recognised as environments which are welcoming to breastfeeding mothers and supports them by providing facilities where baby can be changed and where food can be warmed up.

Millie’s Mark shows that our staff are “going above and beyond minimum requirements in keeping children safe”. At Little Giggles we take your child’s safety extremely seriously and we work hard to ensure we have robust training and procedures in place to make sure your child receives the best possible care.
We pride ourselves on offering children not only the best start to their education, but to children’s health too. To ensure that we can quality assess this we have taken part in the Oral Health and Nutrition Award which is aimed at ensuring that local childcare providers are meeting national and local food, nutrition and oral health guidelines. Little Giggles can proudly say that we are meeting these guidelines and we continuously strive to retain this award with the health of our children at heart, not only nutritionally but also through oral health. Please ask us about our menus and the nutritional meals that we provide!
At Little Giggles parent satisfaction is very important to us, we feel there is no better way for us to reflect on the service that we offer without the opinions and feedback from our families. We are very proud to say that we are ‘recommended on day nurseries’ as a provider that you can trust and where children are happy and thrive. If you want to read what parents have to say about us the reviews from day nurseries will certainly help as these are completely independent of Little Giggles. Parents have to submit their directly to day nurseries and Little Giggles don’t get to see it until it has been published, giving parents the peace of mind that these reviews are 100% legitimate and a true testament to the setting.
Our founder and Managing Director Jamie-Louise was privileged to be runner-up for “Best Director” at the National Nursery Recognition Awards.
The Eco-Schools programme provides a unique opportunity that empowers children to lead change within their setting and have a positive impact in their wider community. The programme encourages children of all ages and abilities to work together to develop their knowledge and environmental awareness. Independent research into the Eco-Schools programme in England found evidence of the positive impacts on children, including increased confidence, development of leaderships skills, improved pupil well-being and behaviour and greater motivation within the setting. These are the primary reasons why Little Giggles takes part in this amazing award as we feel this is a culture that we want to promote amongst our children to help care about the world in which we live. Teaching our children about how to care for their environments is something which we are passionate about and pride ourselves on been able to share this with our children through education.
